2009 Mustang Challenge Media Car Raises $275,000 for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
The car that brought the most money last Friday at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction was not a Ferrari, Porsche, or a Lamborghini; it was a Mustang FR500S owned by SPX Corporation.  This factory-built Mustang race car served as the "media car" for the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge series throughout the 2009 season, and was driven by notables including Rob D’Amico of Fox Sports Radio, Jack Roush Jr., and at the season finale by Gary Bennett of Barrett-Jackson.  The car sold for an outstanding $275,000 -- every penny of which is going to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

2009 Mustang Challenge Media Car to be auctioned to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
A very special Mustang FR500S will be crossing the auction block at the annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, January 18-24 (lot number 1027).  SPX Corporation has generously donated car number 56 (of the 75 built) to be auctioned off to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  The FR500S is the first race car built by Ford Motor Company on a production line intended for sale to the public.  Capaldi Racing campaigned the car for Ford Racing as the media car for the 2009 Ford Racing Mustang Challenge season.  Members of the media rode in and raced this car during the ten-race season.

Buffomante signs with Capaldi Racing for 2010 Mustang Challenge
Capaldi Racing announced today that the team will add a new driver to their Ford Racing Mustang Challenge lineup for the 2010 season.  Last year’s two-time race winner, Tony Buffomante will campaign the Capaldi Racing / Ford Performance Parts #34 Mustang in the 10 race season championship starting at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 6-7.
