Craig Capaldi to Make Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Debut
Two-time NASA Spec Focus National Champion, Craig Capaldi, is set to make his Ford Racing Mustang Challenge debut this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course driving the #68 Capaldi Racing FR500S alongside current points leader, Tony Buffomante, and Steve Phillips. Craig, who has been racing for almost ten years, recently moved from NASA's Spec Focus class to American Iron, driving Capaldi Racing’s 2005 Mustang GT and winning with the Mustang in only his 2nd outing with the car.

Current Ford Racing Mustang Challenge points leader, Tony Buffomante, will be the featured guest on this week's Raceday radio show. The show, hosted by former Ford Racing Mustang Challenge media driver Rob D'Amico, airs Sunday morning at 10:15 ET on Fox Sports (XM Channel 142) and will be streamed on www.foxsports.com and www.speedtv.com. Rob and Tony will be talking about the Mustang Challenge Series and his current championship points lead in the series.

Capaldi Racing Nets Second Straight Mustang Challenge Win
Fresh off the team's first-ever Mustang Challenge win at Lime Rock Park, Capaldi Racing arrived at Watkins Glen International looking for two in a row. In Friday’s practice sessions, team drivers Tony Buffomante and Steve Phillips were the quickest and 5th quickest. Although they slowed a bit in Sunday morning's wet practice session (2nd and 7th, respectively), the team was back on top after qualifying, with Tony setting the fastest time of the session on his last lap, earning his third consecutive pole position. Steve qualified in the top 10 with the 8th fastest time. At the start of the race, Tony settled into third, content to run patiently with the five lead cars. Just before the halfway point, his patience was rewarded as he passed Pratt Cole for the lead -- and never looked back. The win was Tony's second straight and 4th Mustang Challenge win. Steve also had a great race, advancing two positions crossing the line in 6th.
